How to Use Cydia : Starter Guide

Cydia app is one of the main reason why people usually jailbreak their iOS device. Usually people buy jailbroken iPad or iPhone, they have Cydia app already but they never cared to look into it. When I bought my iPhone , I had no idea what is unlocking and Jailbreaking. But now I know about installous and Cydia and I believe this Cydia guide will be helpful for any newbie to learn how to use Cydia.

So first you need to check if your phone is jailbroken or not. There are huge lot of benefits of jailbreaking iPhone, one main benefit is that it allow you to install many tweaks from Cydia, to supercharge iPad and iPhone. There are many tweaks that are not even available from App store but users can install from Cydia.

How to use Cydia for Beginners:

To check if your phone have Cydia app just search Cydia. If you tap on it first time then will taketake time to load. You just need a working internet connection to use Cydia.

Cydia offer paid tweaks as well as free tweaks. I also bought and installed few of them like My Wi and Screen display recorder. Now its time to look for features of Cydia.

When you start Cydia for the first time, it will start reloading and updating Cydia sources. This may take some time. Once, everything is loaded, Cydia home screen will look like below:

You will see 5 sections on the footer, , which will see like this:

•     Section : 
•     Changes: 
•     Manage: 
•     Search :

Now, you need manage account feature when you buy app from Cydia.

Using Cydia Sections:

Now lets see how to use Cydia and other sections.

    Sections:  In Sections you will find all themes and tweaks sorted in categories. This makes browsing tweaks easier. For example, when you search for themes or ringtones on cydia.

    Changes: This section is for two purpose. This show all tweaks added to Cydia and also previously installed tweaks from Cydia.This help you to find new Cydia tweaks and updates.

    Manage: You need to add new sources to do many cool things with Cydia. For example, Sara or Installous can be installed using particular repository. You can also uninstall earlier installed tweaks.

    Search:  Do you really need help in search? I believe you can do it yourself.
